Michael J. Lewis

Composer, conductor, Michael J Lewis was born in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales. Studied harmony, counterpoint and composition at the Guildhall School of Music, London. His numerous film scores include "The Madwoman of Chaillot”, for which Michael received England's premier music award, the Ivor Novello, “Julius Caesar", "The Medusa Touch", "The Naked Face", "Theatre of Blood", "Hound of the Baskervilles", and "Sphinx", starring Katharine Hepburn, Danny Kaye, Yul Brynner, Charlton Heston, Anthony Quinn, Roger Moore, Christopher Reeves and fellow Welshmen Anthony Hopkins and Richard Burton. Michael’s score for the Broadway show, “Cyrano,” co-written with novelist Anthony Burgess, won Christopher Plummer a Tony Award, and his score for “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” won an Emmy Award. A new Broadway show, based on the life of the most iconic woman in history, is currently in development, with Michael writing both script and score,
